1. I read a book a while ago about a woman who makes a bet with two chessmasters saying she can beat at least one of them, takes them into separate rooms and does just that... I wish I could remember the title.
2. He didn't predict the number. In an illusion, what you end with is what you started with. I'd imagine the paper in the pocket was not the same paper with the numbers on it, and the numbers paper was created after the games were over from memory (hence the error of 6 instead of 7) You'll notice he makes a grab for the paper and is very tactile with it, I'm assuming some slight of hand was involved as he was yanking away the envelope or instructing him on how to open it. Who really needs instructions on how to unfold paper?
